Kernel 2.4.18-3 failes to configure

Hello,

I have tried this serveral different ways and it still doesnt work.

ftape-4.x-2002_06_13.tar.gz
ftape-4.x-2002_08_02.tar.gz


Currently I am running kernel-2.4.18-3 and a RHL 7.3 System.
I have a exabyte eagle tr3 floppy tape drive that works in Win98

the last one I tried was the ftape-4.x-2002_06_13.tar.gz because I found 
the tools package.

I tried makeing the ftape tools package with the ftape completely out of 
the kernel, with it selected in the kernel, with the default build of 
the kernel etc.



I get this message

I don't have another tape drive that works. I would really like to get 
this workstation backed up at least. Windoze doesn't recognize the linux 
partitions on this computer and the important stuff is on the linux side.

This is a dual boot system.

Any help will be appreciated.
