I am afraid I was not clear,

I meant that I never tried the 2.6 kernel stock ftape modules and the
mentioned module options for 3.09. Experimental ftape versions (4.x) are
known to not compile for 2.6 kernels.

The options I was referring to were in woody something like

# -----------------------
#
# load ftape/zftape automatically
#

# valid for all versions with zftape

alias char-major-27 zftape

# For 2.2 kernels and hopefully above

options ftape ft_fdc_rate_limit=1000 ft_fdc_threshold=16 ft_fdc_base=0x360 ft_fdc_irq=9 ft_fdc_dma=3
# -----------------------

(options line is a single line, it might have been splitted)

Had you success on using the 3.x module options following the procedure
I mentioned in my mail with 2.6 kernel stock ftape modules?

Cheers,
