I downloaded the most recent one (ftape-4.x-2002_06_13), and I can compile 
it! Thank you, Robyn.

Now I have another problem. After compiling, I tried to load the modules 
and use my tape drive, but it doesn't work. I have a Iomega Ditto Easy 800 
(connected to the parallel port), so I think I have to use the bpck-fdc driver.
That's what appears in my /var/log/messages when I load the modules:
