To all, I recently sent the below post to linux-tape, but I was not subscribed to the list at the time. I figured I'd better subscribe since I have a tape drive in the system now and since I hadn't heard anything, I'm curious whether this list gets much traffic. Is this a well-used list? Below is the original message, but now I am subscribed. ---------------------------------------------------------- I recently pulled an older exabyte eagle TR-3 from the closet (with accellerator card) and installed in an older intel 586 running Redhat-7.3. I recompiled the kernel and all works fine except when I try to format or verify a tape I get the following error: Error switching to raw mode: Invalid argument I have checked the FAQ and docs and I am still unable to figure out what is going wrong. Any help would be appreciated.
