Oli- I think the localapps stuff is proceeding exactly as we had discussed in the hackfest. I don't understand. "xrexec" is needed to set the Xatom on the server-side to trigger the launching of the application. You cannot launch the application merely with a .desktop file. I envisioned the .desktop file's Exec line being something like: Exec=xrexec <application name> Though, as xrexec is merely a single line, it could become: Exec=xprop ... set "LTSP_COMMAND" <application name> in which case, there would be no server-side script. Either way, though, everything we have coded thus far is still required.
