I always understood that would be the case, .desktop files
automatically generated, as you explained on IRC the first time I
inquired about localapps.

If you are referring to our implementation on openSUSE, we are *NOT*
forking, all of LTSP code is exactly as in ltsp-trunk, ldm-trunk etc.
Getting local apps working has helped us streamline the mechanism of
installing local apps inside the image, enabling us to get it in
KIWI-LTSP part of Easy-LTSP GUI.

As an offshoot, it stimulated some creative thinking and helped
implementing Icecream: http://en.opensuse.org/LTSP/Icecream

I hope no one using kiwi-ltsp is demanding extra support and maintenance.

We understand this completely, hope getting more people testing
localapps do not distract from getting proper solution.
