While at that, it might make sense to consider making reuse
of a distro's pre-existing chroot builder as logical as it
should be -- IIRC openSUSE LTSP faced this question too.

e.g., being able to skip all the $APT configuration presuming
that it's not there or unique enough and at most rely on a
particular $INSTALL thing and run-these-scripts mechanism.
