ubuntu boots with 32M ram (using nbd swap early from the initramfs
though) ... less is utopic to achieve if you use a distro kernel (i
havent seen a 2.6 kernel shipped by any distro that uncompresses in less
than 32M and is able to still unpack the initramfs) and hardware
autodetection.
