New build 19.08-1~201908210816~ubuntu19.10.1 uploaded in the PPA
(https://github.com/ltsp/ltsp/wiki/ppa), with the following changelog
since the first version:
- Support Ubuntu and Debian live isos as bootable images
- Implement autologin and passwordless logins
- Support generating xorg.conf
- Implement LOCAL_SWAP
- Various fixes, man pages etc
That means that it's now possible to:
- place ubuntu-live.iso in /srv/ltsp/images/x86_64.img
- run `ltsp kernel` to extract its kernel/initrd in 1 second
- and then to boot the clients and see the LTSP users in the display
manager and login with SSH/SSHFS/NFS etc, like any other image.
So now one can test if his users like kubuntu or ubuntu-mate or gnome
better within 1 minute; they will have their normal desktops, not live
guest sessions.
See `man ltsp.conf(5)`
(https://github.com/ltsp/ltsp/blob/master/docs/ltsp.conf.5.md) for
documentation of all the options.
If the new LTSP already supports all the options one needs, it should be
preferred for new installations
(https://github.com/ltsp/ltsp/wiki/installation).
