local scanners not accessible from thin clients

Hello

We only recently upgraded our ltsp installation from debian jessie to
debian stretch.

Since the upgrade, a scanner connected to a thin client can't be used
any more from any application running on the ltsp-server. On debian
jessie this always worked fine.

Opening a terminal within the thin client with 'ltsp-localapps xterm' I
can access the scanner with scanimage.

On the ltsp-server as well within the thin client the user is member of
the scanner group.

Any idea how to fix this or how to find out, why this happens?
