Tomsrtbt does not use udhcp, it has a Lua script called dhcpcd--, which may well have some flaws.

Lua is an interpreted language, so you can work towards fixing it directly in place.

I can't do much more, given that I don't have a router which exposes this issue.

The script is in /bin/dhcpcd--.lua, let me know if you make a fix so I can patch the master.
