New Actiontec Wiki Page (HOWTO Install Actiontec GPL Release)

Dear Actiontec Dual PC Modem "Hackers":

In anticipation of the new GPS source release from Actiontec, I've created 
a new "HOWTO" Web page on the Wiki...

...which gives detailed instructions for setting up a RedHat Linux host 
for doing Actiontec Dual PC Modem kernel and ROM file system "hacking".

I know that no ARM9 uClinux "cross-compile" tools need to be re-compiled 
if you use Red Hat Linux 7.3 or 8.0.  The binaries that Actiontec has 
supplied work just fine right "out of the box".

The HOWTO instructions also show how to get the latest Actiontec 
"binaries" from their "firmware upgrade" Windows executable (which is in 
fact also a ZIP file).  Using these instructions, but skipping the steps 
related to re-building the uClinux kernel, one can easily make 
modifications to the ROM file system today and then apply these changes to 
your modem without fear of making a "door stop".  In other words, to play 
it safe, just don't change the kernel yet (i.e., "linuz")!

Any feedback and/or corrections would be appreciated.

I plan to add a HOWTO on recompiling the "user mode" programs soon as well.

I also have a Perl script for putting newly compiled user-mode programs 
onto a running Actiontec modem using TELNET and TFTP which I will release 
soon.  This makes testing new user-mode programs relatively painless.  No 
NFS is required.
