I think this is not related to DHCP at all. I was struggling with the same
problem yesterday, I tried static ip, dhcp, autoip, nothing worked until
I did this:
route add -net 239.0.0.0 netmask 255.0.0.0 eth1
ifconfig eth1 allmulti
