Yes FP has "mangled" code in the past, but its getting better with each
release, and at least most browsers render it close to correct now days.

DW really isn't a lot better in the code area, its differen, but I can't say
it passes validation any more than does FP.  It has almost as good
site management as does FP without the need for those extensions
on the server (which are not really necessary anyway as long as ftp
works).

You can find a nit to pic with any machine generated code, but
by and large it works well.  These products need some open source
competition.
