Listen, I honestly believe you are right in this regard.  I mean  I
messed around with Composer back in the day.  In response to this
thread, I even tried out the great barely-mentioned user-focused wysiwyg
editor sweb.  It is part of openoffice like in RH9 that means it lives
in /usr/lib/openoffice/programs/ -- Yes, it is a bit like editing your
web pages in a word processor but it is quite enough for most home
users.

Before you go off, I understand that you are talking a real site
management tool.  That capability is sorely lacking in linux.

In defense of some flamers that will come out of the framework on this I
do feel that Frontpage mangles the code.  Dreamweaver is a bit better in
this regard but not much.  

In linux, I prefer screem.  The editor window the in the middle of two
frames is a bit crunched on a small screen but it is quite nice.  Using
it tonight (swear to god) to edit up a teacher's page for my wife.
