Well don't browse these sights if you find there content ridiculous.

Are you suggesting that the first person to come up with an idea gets
that space and if anybody else wants to try it a different way they
shouldn't be free to do so?

reinvention, reengineering, mutation, and original design are all good
things and easily accomplished when GPL'd software is the basis.  What
your complaining about is exactly what makes Linus's OS so good.
