I've tested with pl2303, no oops (without sysfs ;), but both on ttyUSB0.

Well, then forget about. I'm sorry.

usb-serial had enough rc bugfixes already, i.e. any number of additional
crutches and 'HORRIBLE FIXES' won't help.
