Smartmon uses the ATA PASS-THROUGH and that lives in the "wild west" where MULTIPLE things are not defined:
1) Interaction between normal SAT (SCSI to ATA Translated ) commands and ATA PASS-THROUGH is PURPOSELY not defined... 
	Example: reading / writing on one path does not have cache coherency / order with using the other path
2) MULTIPLE ATA PASS-THROUGH commands are NOT ordered or blocking
	With Multiple ATA PASS-THROUGH commands, one command can interrupt / corrupted another
	ATA PASS-THROUGH commands could get re-ordered
