Any non-readable sectors are a bad sign, but they can also be caused by external causes such as poor power supply (or power failure during write), or chassis vibration, so best to eliminate these if possible. I would backup all data (if you're not using RAID) and get the pending sectors overwritten (method differs according to whether or not you're using RAID), then do a SMART long self test.
