I gave up. I bought a new external HDD and the problem didn't occur since. Off topic: But I am very disappointed about the speed of the new drive. In benchmarks it shows 2-4 MB/s less than the old one. Is this normal for this drive or is there another problem? Old drive: Samsung HD400LD SpinPoint T133 (IDE, 400 GB) New drive: Toshiba Canvio Basics (SATA, 1TB) Both drives run with Windows write cache and without cache on the drive and are connected to an USB 2.0 slot. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Site24x7 APM Insight: Get Deep Visibility into Application Performance APM + Mobile APM + RUM: Monitor 3 App instances at just $35/Month Monitor end-to-end web transactions and take corrective actions now Troubleshoot faster and improve end-user experience.
