However, I would recommend that you consider upgrading your sources to at least 4.9. As far as I know, prior versions are now deprecated and it is unlikely that Marc will rectify any possible bugs unless they are present in 4.9 or higher. The 4.10 branch in particular fixes many issues and should (hopefully) be out by the weekend. I took the plunge and installed 4.10-pre7 on my server, and it's definitely the best release yet. So my recommendation is to install at least 4.9, set CONFIG_HIGHMEM4G (yes, it's changed a bit) and perhaps CONFIG_HIGHIO. If the problem still persists, follow the steps in REPORTING-BUGS.
