WOLK-4.9s and preempt/low latency

I just installed the WOLK-4.9s (server) source via a Gentoo ebuild. I am building the kernel for a small SOHO router/firewall/bard machine. I noticed that this kernel has prempt turned on by default and also that it is tweaked for desktop rather than server. Is this correct for the server edition of WOLK, or should I shut these things off? For the time being, I have built the kernel without preempt and change the latency tweaks on for server and off for desktop. I am just wondering if perhaps those that know better than myself actually recommend what was on by default for a server?
