clisp release history

Someone pointed out to me recently that the release history,
which shows up at the top of impnotes, shows as the last release:
  Release 2.49  2010-07-07 sds

This gave him the impression that there has been no development or
maintenance for the last 10 years!

I don't think I understand what exactly qualifies as a "release" 
or how this is determined.  If there are not to be any more
official releases, I suggest that some explanation of that replace
the list of releases, or be added to the list of releases.
And if there actually were, or even SHOULD have been releases in 
the past 10 years, that those be added to the list.
