This sounds pretty interesting.  How hard would it be to build 
BEEP-based protocols in Etiquette?  I've been thinking about trying to 
write an iCal server for a while but the BEEP stuff seems painful.

It seems like there's a lot of pretty creative lisp hacking going on 
these days.
