Hello Yarden, List,

I've been tiptoeing around a lot of the CL RDF stuff and am interested in
getting
a firmer grasp.  Can you recommend a couple of books on RDF and associated
reasoning
technologies that would provide a strong introduction for someone with a
pretty good
knowledge of Common Lisp and who intends to use Common Lisp in his
rdf-related work?
I do not know a whole lot about RDF or knowledge representation in general,
but neither
do I want a "for dummies" type book.

Dan's post inspired me to briefly describe some of the Semantic Web
research I've been doing here, all of which has been exclusively
implemented in Common Lisp:

*   Implementing a rule-based OWL reasoner that uses LISA
    <lisa.sf.net> (a forward
    chaining inference engine) and Wilbur <wilbur-rdf.sf.net> (an RDF
    Toolkit written in CL).  OWL is essentially a description logic
    that is used to build relationships between resources (anything is
    a resource on the semantic web).  You can check it out
    at http://mindswap.org/~katz/2003/06/basic-sketch-wilbur-lisa.html

*   A rule-driven layout system for webpages, similar to a blog,
    designed for RDF.

*   A SOAP serializer for the SHOP <http://cs.umd.edu/projects/shop>
    planning system.

The only thing that's absolutely usable for public consumption right
now is the first item.  Some of this stuff will be submitted to ILC in
one form or another, so it's literally a matter of weeks until all of
this becomes public.

Just thought I'd share.. I'll be sure to post more links as more
source becomes public.
