That lazy bum Fred Gilham?  He didn't do much, just fixed a couple
bugs.

My problem when looking at this stuff was that CLX on Allegro wasn't
(isn't) in very good shape.  I never tried to fix those problems
because at the time I didn't care about Allegro.  I would think that
the first cut at fixing this would involve making sure CLX works well
on Allegro.  This would include, for example, folding in some of the X
authority stuff that CMUCL has.

How well does the portable CLX stuff work on Allegro?

I still try to make sure Garnet works under CMUCL whenever I rebuild
my CMUCL installation.  Unfortunately I think my stuff is diverging
from the Sourceforge stuff, because the code layout changed and it's
tedious for me to change my (perfectly functional as is) Garnet build
environment around.  I no longer feel any sense of ownership about
Garnet (I don't say this in any negative way.  I have just moved on.)
On the other hand, I'm personally excited about the progress in
McCLIM.
