add unwind-protect, remove broken conditional guarding the restoring
set-buffer call in comint-process-filter.  Also, remove extra debugging
added to lisp-find-next-possibility.  This fixes a M-. bug reported by
2003-12-18 by Lynn Quam (and probably other bugs as well).
