Lost processes with CMUCL

Hi! I observe the following reproducable behaviour with CMUCL and ILISP: I'm in the debugger and want to leave it with :a<RET> but I am too fast and just type :<RET> - after I do that the complete process is lost. Anything after that will result in the message 'Current buffer has no process' shown in the mini-buffer. Any idea what's happening here? I'm using Emacs 21.2 on Linux, ILISP is CVS version from around February 2002, CMUCL is pre-18d from January.
