Yes, I agree. That is a much different operating environment than the
simpler assert/run/reset scenario, and would explain why I haven't heard of
this problem until now.

In our tests last night, the patch fixed several very strange spurious 
rule activations with no other ill effects, but I hadn't done 
super-extensive testing as it was getting pretty late.

My only explanation as to why we've run into this and nobody else has is 
that we're using Lisa in a way which involves a lot of fact assertions 
and retractions on-the-fly, and never, ever (reset)s.
