I do not really want to stir up any kind of discussion and I do
understand distributed versus centralized but I am just not sure if
in this specific case centralized actually sounds better to me. I am
thinking of the decentralized idea idea to be something that is more
suitable for projects with large developer communities. MCL does not
fit that pattern. All we want is to keep RMCL alive. Any kind of fix
that is useful to the few RMCL users left should find its way into the
shared repository and not accidentally be left is some decentralized
version somewhere. In other words I think decentralization is a
potential avenue to kill RMCL even faster than via Apple OS X updates.
At any rate, my input here is not important as we really have
completely switched over to CCL.

Regarding road map: For me the ability to run legacy MCL code on Intel-
Macs is great and allows me to finally ditch PPC boxes. All our new
stuff runs well on CCL on Macs and via Cocotron is beginning to run on
Windows as well. That's pretty exciting.

I think the best way to look at MCL is from a inspirational point of
view. The code base has some value but is pretty messed up with
leftovers from just about all the Mac OS versions in existence. I
think CCL should really take MCL is its main input from a conceptual
point of view, i.e., a lightweight IDE and not something like Eclipse
nor LispWorks but in terms of code it may be better to start fresh.
