question about a macivory error

Goodmorning all...     

I have a quick question.  I have a feeling the problem must be something
rather simple but in any case please forgive my ignorance.

whenever I try to edit namespace Objects (say for instance to add a
network) I always get 


Error: :AUTHOR is not a changeable property in the Macintosh file system.
for: HOST:Mac O/S 7.6:System
Folder:Ivory:Namespace:standalone-objects.temp


while the status bar shows the system to be accessing the
standalone-objects.text file.
I am completely ignorant about lispm maintenance troubleshooting etc, so
any suggestions would be very welcome.

incidentally a (si:login-to-sys-host) returns Nil

ps.  while I'm writing, it occurs to me to ask if anyone has an extra
symbolics keyboard lying around?
