RE: scheme wikis cometh

As a result of the discussions on #scheme, Jorgen Schäfer asked to use the
name "community.schemewiki.org" to set up a general-purpose Scheme wiki,
i.e. implementation-neutral, for any Scheme-related content.  (Thanks to
whoever recommended that he ask for that, I haven't been on #scheme for the
past few days - too much work, too many ants ;)

I don't see any problem with allocating the name to them.  I went a step
further and agreed to install Gauche and its wiki, WiLiKi, on the server, as
a CGI script (i.e. it just plugs into the existing Apache, it's not an
entirely separate HTTP server like PLT's.)  They discussed using our TWiki
installation, but at least a few people felt strongly that they wanted a
Scheme-based wiki.  They were already using WiLiKi in their nascent setup.

I don't think that this is likely to compete with the Cookbook in the main
sense we'd be concerned about, i.e. anyone writing Cookbook-style recipes
for PLT would probably want to put them on the Cookbook anyway, and we don't
yet have a good way of dealing with other implementations.  It might compete
with a general-purpose Schematics/Scheme wiki if we had one, but we haven't
set up anything like that yet.

We could probably make a case for using Moshi if we wanted to, but I wasn't
familiar enough with either wiki to be able to make that case.  WiLiKi
apparently has revision control.

Please let me know if there are any objections to any of this.

The announcement on c.l.s. will be delayed, probably until tomorrow (but no
later).  I plan to jazz up the page at schemewiki.org (I'll actually make it
a wiki page), and include links to the new 'community' wiki as well as to
the main WiLiKi installation at:
