For the last three months, the Scheme Cookbook (schemecookbook.org) has been running on a slightly underpowered server, due to a server crash at the end of August which required that it be moved. At around 00:00 Eastern time today, the Cookbook was moved to a new, much faster server. The only visible effect should be that it should run much faster now. If you notice anything out of the ordinary, please let me know. One aspect which is still slower than it should be is the generation of index pages, particularly the TOC page, which is done, TWiki-style, by grepping through the entire Cookbook contents. In the not too distant future, I hope to set up a caching solution to avoid having to do this on every request for an index page. However, the new server is fast enough to somewhat mask the sheer inefficiency of this process.
