We tried las year to get European founds to build a geographical
freetware based on XlispStat (with P. Valero, C. Brunsdon and others).
But unfortunetely we didn't succed.=20
There was also a project about a book written by lispstaters ? Is it
going on ?

It is my case. I continue to develop on it (just see my web site : the
paper published in the Codata Journal about spatial data usability, and
also the "MeAdian", developped within XlispStat). I have a lot of code
which is available, but there is still a big work to improve its
efficiency...=20
That's why we try to find money to pay people to develop our "raw code".
We also planned to organize a workshop about "exploratory data
analysis", but it is difficult to find enough people to be interested.=20
A question : who would be ready to come in France or anywhere else for
such a workshop ?
And I'm not sure this would be better for a "XlispStat workshop" ?
There exist workshops about robustness, L1-norms, but pluridisciplinary
workshops are very difficult to hold.

As you see, the list is quiet but still alive !?
Didier.
