I do work often with xls.

Still I have'nt found any devpelopment language with the pros (and the
cons) of XLispStat!

I just finished a first version of an
application to draw biplots. Take a look on the users-manual at

PS About your question: the "new" compiler is not that new, it works very
well and improves execution by reducing time in, I would estimate, some
20%.
