Problems Connecting

Today marks my third attempt at installing 40tude, and for the third
time I am unable to connect with any News Server I have, and instead
keep getting messages alluding to "authentication rejected". I installed
Xnews just to test my settings, and Xnews found the Server, downloaded a
complete list of Newsgroups... and all within a couple of minutes.

I've tried everything with 40tude... but nothing works. I even imported
the settings from Xnews, but to no avail. I know my Server and login
name are correct, along with my password, because I use Xnews without a
hitch. Perhaps there is something different in the way 40tude tries to
connect to my Server.

Anyone have any ideas?
