     erm... file/compact database? :)

     dialog does purge, but its database format is like windows 9x
     registry - it can only grow in size until you compact it
     manually (in win9x that was accomplished by exporting the
     registry into a text file and then booting to straight DOS,
     and running regedit /some_switch).

     that reminds me, i haven't compacted my database in a week...
