Nope.  By definition, the number of messages in a top-level folder always 
gets updated.  If the server can't quickly count the number of messages in a 
folder then you'll just have to keep the number of top-level folders at a 
minimum.

Signatures are not directly implemented.  However you can memorizes blocks 
of text and assigning it to a shortcut, or a function key.

Try a different font.  A different mark is used to identify deleted 
messages, it's the crosscheck mark: "×", but the character may not be 
defined by all fonts.
