This may be a red-herrring (ie a different issue).
For over a year I have been getting duplicate dmarc reports from gmail.
Looking at the headers (both last year and this) the duplication
happens early as the message makes its way through gmail's servers
- certainly before the DMARC headers are added by (different) google machines.
I typically receive the first copy several minutes before the first
Received/X-Received header is added to the second copy,
so it is possible that a "sending failed" message has got
back to the originating machine.
Is there anything in the headers timestamps of the new duplicates
that might shed any light ?
