clamav - temporarily rejected after data

Hi --

I have successfully gotten SPF and Spamassassin
running under Exiscan.  However, I seem to be
having trouble getting Clamav to work.  clamd is
running and the unix socket is created in /tmp.
However, when a message arrives 'temporarily
rejected after data' is written to the log file
and the message is not delivered.

I did some googling and found where a few others
had encountered this problem.  I tried several
suggestions including running clamav is the exim
user.  (That one looked real promising.)  
None-the-less, none of them seemed to work.

One of the problems is that the message, 
'temporarily rejected after data' is not real
descriptive and I can't seem to figure out a
way to get a better handle on the exact nature
of the problem.

If anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear
them.  Thanks for any input.
