That is technically true - Mike knowingly broke the local rules.
As Jeremy is (almost) the only one maintaining exim I am not going to argue with his rules.
I have great sympathy with the principle that many LLMs are built using stolen work and therefore should be shunned.

However I do wish that Mike's attempt to help had been treated more kindly.

I am saddened that Mike's offered gift appears to have been received as an extra burden.
