I just enabled the separate msg window preference for the first time. It's a
good start, but of course, I have a few comments.
The first is that the descriptions for the "Use separate Ftoc window" and
"Use separate Msg window" options are both incomplete in opposite ways.
Both require restarting exmh and the Msg window can also only display a
single message just as the ftoc can only display a single folder.
The second comment stems from the ability to only show one message. The
"Clip" option on the message "More..." menu feels very non-intuitive at this
point. It would be nice if the window it displays and the Message Display
window were to be merged to use the same code base. Once that were done, I
suspect we could easily evolve to a more intuitive way to display multiple
messages, probably based on how one clicks on the ftoc.
About a decade ago I started to try to merge that code, but this was in the days
before anybody but Brent had access to CVS and at one point I got so far
out of sync with what Brent was doing that I just tossed my code. I think
I may have even changed jobs at the time or something.
