1.5D borders on FC4

Howdy!

Just installed the latest and greatest FC4 (circa 11-14).

Most of the graphics and tools are working just fine under Gnome, thank you.

But...

In all of my exmh buttons or selections, it appears they have gone 1.5 
dimensional.  What I mean is that there is normally a lighter border on 
the north and west sides of the image to give a nice 3D look to the button 
or selection.   This has disappeared, with only the east and south 
edges getting the darker border they always have.

And BTW, all the backgrounds appear lighter.  Is there a specific
attribute to try in app-defaults to darken the overall background,
and maybe have the lighter borders appear?


Or is this a more generic tk issue?
