This is because Outlook uses the Envelope-From, rather than the From:, 
 for replying purposes. It's broken.

The Envelope-From is put together by your MTA (sendmail, postfix, exim, 
 whatever), usually in username@machinename form. It's there you should 
 fix the localhost.localdomain problem - because your MTA thinks your 
 machine is named localhost.localdomain.

It might also be possible to fix the problem via your nmh's mts.conf 
 (look in the manpage for "masquerade", specifically "draft_from",
 though I haven't played with that myself).
