Similar experience here, although I edited my various components
files to adapt. I have not experienced any problems with mail relays.

I have noted the exmh ports update (exmh-2.7.2_6 to exmh-2.8.0) has
pessimized I/O on my FreeBSD 8-STABLE system with either old or new
nmh. I have large folders and address database. I've shrunk the
folders, which helps, but saving the address database takes much
longer (100x) than before.
