What you wanted was suggested already.

For procmail (cut-n-pasted from my huge .procmailrc:

This will update the unseen sequence as it calls rcvstore:

:0 E:listserv-cleanup/$LOCKEXT
*^(To:|From:).*[email protected]
|rcvstore +listserv-cleanup

And this won't, because procmail's internal handling of mh folders is limited
to finding the next number and saving - it doesn't update sequences:

:0 w:old-lists/$LOCKEXT
*^To:.*old-lists
old-lists/.

So stuff sorted into +listserv-cleanup turns blue, while +old-lists doesn't.
