Both the manual and the FAQ are in dire need of rewriting.
Unfortunately, I don't have the original sources for either of them, so
I have to convert the generated HTML files to something more editable.
I've got them most of the way converted to TeXinfo, though.

I've made a note to update this section in the FAQ when I get that far.
