What does this look like:

ls -l /var/qmail/alias/.qmail-austrian*

Also, is this a virtualdomains or a locals domain? If virtual, what does
your  /var/qmail/control/virtualdomains file  say  for  this domain?  In
addition, are you using qmail-users?

The rules for  how qmail decides where to deliver  an email are detailed
in man dot-qmail. You might also want  to have a look at the PIC.* files
in the qmail source tree.
