Thanks for the max_messages_per_session option Charles. I can't try that out today, probably not tomorrow, but will post result. I never delete from gmail, except solidspam, since gooogle provides the space and I change machines in my dept and at home every few years. I have a lot of folders (or `label's) but really only need two or three in addition to the givens (sent, spam, etc). Retrieving all and sorting afterwards is definitely better than what I have been doing.
