I have no errors this end.
I've always assumed that gmail has a bespoke way of handling mail, that 
files are not in directories but tagged.
So "delete" tags them as seen and moved from INBOX but they are kept for 
examination for keywords and that for advertising purposes.
Perhaps if that is not others experience I need to check my syntax for 
mail "location"
